What kind of material does nylon rope use?

Polyamide commonly known as nylon, English name Polyamide (PA), is a kind of thermoplastic resin containing repeating amide group-[NHCO] on the main chain. Aliphatic PA, aliphatic aromatic PA, and aromatic PA are included. Among them, aliphatic PA has many varieties, large yield and wide application. Its name is determined by the specific number of carbon atoms of the synthesized monomer.

The main varieties of nylon are nylon 6 and nylon 66, occupying an absolute dominant position, followed by nylon 11, nylon 12, nylon 610, nylon 612, in addition to nylon 1010, nylon 46, nylon 7, nylon 9, nylon 13, nylon 6I, nylon 9T, special nylon MXD6 (barrier resin) and other new varieties. There are many modified varieties of nylon.

Such as reinforced nylon, monomer cast nylon (MC nylon), reaction injection molding (RIM) nylon, aromatic nylon, transparent nylon, high impact resistance (super tough nylon, electroplated conductive nylon, flame retardant nylon, nylon and other polymer blends and alloys, etc., to meet special requirements, widely used in metal, wood and other traditional materials to replace, as a variety of structural materials.

Nylon is one of the most important engineering plastics, and its output is one of the five general engineering plastics.

Performance: Nylon ductile angle translucent or Milky White crystalline resin. As an engineering plastic, nylon has an average molecular weight of 1.5-30000. Nylon has high mechanical strength, high softening point, heat resistance, low friction coefficient, wear resistance, self-lubrication, impact resistance and sound absorption, Oil resistance, weak acid, alkali and solvent resistance, good electrical insulation, self-extinguishing, non-toxic, odorless, good weather resistance, poor dyeing.

The disadvantage is that the water absorption rate is large, which affects the dimensional stability and electrical properties. Fiber reinforcement can reduce the water absorption rate of the resin, so that it can work under high temperature and high humidity. Nylon has a good affinity with glass fiber.

Nylon 66 has high hardness and high rigidity, but poor toughness.

The order of toughness of nylon is PA66 < PA66/6 < PA6 < PA610 < PA11

The flammability of nylon is UL94V-2, the oxygen index is 24-28, the decomposition temperature of nylon is> 299 ℃, and spontaneous combustion occurs at 449~499 ℃.

Nylon melt flow is good, the product wall thickness can be as small as 1mm.
